The shortlist for the 2024 Cricket Association and MCC Book of the Year Awards has been announced today.
The competition, run by the Cricket Association since 1970 and in partnership with the MCC since 2009, is open to books nominated by MCC and Cricket Association members, and which are highly rated by authors and publishers. I am.
A book about Buzz Ball and England's white-ball cricket revolution is on the shortlist. Similarly, Frank Worrell's biography is the first to feature a cricket play by Shomit Dutta. All six books and authors will be celebrated and the winners announced at the annual awards night at Lord's on Tuesday, April 9th.
The event will also see the 2024 Stephen Fay Award for Achievement in Cricket, which will be presented posthumously to Tony Cozier, with Clive Lloyd accepting the award on his behalf.

Robert Winder, chairman of the jury, said: “I know we all say this all the time, but it's been a really competitive year. The judges have worked hard, but unfortunately it was inevitable that a lot of good books were left out. As in cricket, the decisions are… It’s a fine line game.”
The winner of 2023 is Island Eleven, the story of Sri Lankan cricket Written by Nicholas Brooks.
