The 16 players in Penn State's 2024 freshman class got a head start in spring practice, but the group isn't all on campus yet. Nine more Nittany Lions will arrive this summer, including some of the more intriguing prospects in the class. Here's a look at the rest of Penn State's freshman class. Next up is the second player from Catholic Memorial High School in Wisconsin.
Corey Smith
Introducing Corey Smith: As mentioned at the beginning of this series, Smith is one of two players from Catholic Memorial Wisconsin to commit to Penn State. Donnie Herber was Smith's blocker in high school and will play for the Nittany Lions. Both Milwaukee natives, Smith and Herber chose to attend high school together. We commuted together They chose the same college program. Smith was a speedy all-state back who recorded over 3,400 all-purpose yards in his sophomore and junior seasons. Unfortunately, Smith missed most of his senior season due to injury. Smith was the No. 3 back in the state of Wisconsin and the No. 26 back in the nation according to 247Sports. Fellow freshman back Quinton Martin Jr. enrolled early and Give a spring joltSmith will likely take a redshirt this season.

[in the 40-yard dash]”He is the fastest player in school history. He has great energy with the ball in his hands. He is a natural leader, has great character and really influences the younger kids by leading by example. He is kind to everyone and will go on to do great things. We're really excited for him to have the opportunity to take his game to the next level at Penn State.”
