Cody Simpson is ready to take the next step in his blossoming relationship with Emma McKeon.
The 27-year-old singer-turned-swimmer is keen to aim for gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics in a few months, but he also plans to propose to his girlfriend, who is also a gold medalist.
According to reports, Simpson is aiming to ask McKeon to marry him in City of Love.
“What better place to get down on bended knee and propose than in Paris?” a source told New Idea magazine.
“He's already secretly figured out how to hide the ring from her, especially if they're together in the Olympic village!”
The source added that Simpson was likely to ask “on the banks of the Seine after the competition.”
Simpson hopes to qualify for the Australian swimming team, while 29-year-old McKeon is an eight-time world record holder and one of Australia's most decorated Olympians.
She boasts a whopping 11 Olympic medals in her lifetime.
Last month, Simpson made a surprising confession about his future with McKeon, explaining that he and his superstar girlfriend will be venturing into uncharted territory after the July 2024 Olympics.
McKeon has revealed that the Paris Games will be his last Olympics, and the couple's lives will change dramatically after the Games.
Simpson is currently competing for a spot on Australia's national team, but has not yet decided whether to retire from swimming and return to music after the Games.
But he described the Olympics as a “fairy tale end” to his journey and hinted he could take a break from competing.
He also answered about what his relationship with McKeon will be in the future.
“We purposefully put brick walls on both sides to help us cope in case of an emergency,” he told News Corp.
“But there was never a time in my life where I didn’t know what was going to happen next.
“Emma has never lived a life without swimming. I know what it's like, but she's never experienced it, so I don't think she experienced it as a child. I'm looking forward to her exploring other interests and having time to do that.
“I'm very fortunate to be someone who just has a lot to look forward to and who has other passions and careers that I can pursue again depending on what I choose from the pool.
“I don't know what I'm going to do yet, but I'll make a decision later this year.”
But whatever happens, Simpson insists he's committed to his chances and plans to leave happy even if he doesn't make it to the Paris Olympics.
“In a way, I really can't fail, because being selected to this year's Olympic team is either success or failure,” Simpson said in a cryptic statement.
“A fairytale ending would be nice, but it either happens or it doesn't, and that's the reality.

“There's not much I can control other than giving it my all. So if it's not good enough that day, it's not good enough that day.
“But either way, I really gave everything to see what I could do in this sport and have had a lot of success along the way.”
Before pausing his music career, Simpson recorded four albums and played the lead role of Dmitry in the Broadway musical Anastasia.
Simpson and McKeon made their relationship Instagram official in July 2022, three months after secretly starting their relationship.
