The Lincoln Parks and Recreation Department has announced registration start dates for swimming lessons and swimming and diving team leagues.
The municipal pool will be open from May 27th to August 11th. The schedule is as follows.
- Swimming and Diving League: Monday, April 1, 9 a.m. – This program is for ages 6 to 18. Registration is limited to 100 people per team and early registration is encouraged. Registration fee is $71 for either team. It costs an additional $25 to register your child for both teams. A $5 discount will be applied for each additional child added to either team.
- Parker Swimming Lessons: Monday, May 13th – This multi-week swimming program is taught at most pools. The levels taught are Parent and Child – ages 6 to 36 months, Preschoolers – ages 3 to 5, and Levels 1-5 – ages 6 and up. Registration fee is $60 per child. Level sessions and class times vary by location. Not all levels or times are offered at all locations.
Swim teams are planned for Ballard, Belmont, Eden, Highlands, Irvingdale, Star City Shores, University Place and Woods Pool. Dive teams are planned for Eden, Irvingdale, University Place and Woods Pool. Practice begins on June 3rd. The season concludes with all-city meets on July 19 (diving and swimming) and July 20 (swimming).
Need-based scholarships are available for eligible families for both league and lessons.
