2024 Indianapolis Spring Cup
Chris Guiliano and Blake Pieroni On the final night in Indianapolis, he caused a stir by going 1-2 in the 100 free. Guiliano scored 48.52 points in the prelims and 48.70 points in the final, while Pironi scored 48.74 points in the final. Guiliano leads the top American men this year with a score of 47.49 in the time trial at the ACC Championships.

In the men's distance free, Luke Whitlock won in 7:50.20, while Charlie Clarke swam 8:00.78, making him the only athlete to break 8 minutes. Whitlock shaved nearly five seconds off his previous best time of 7:55.00, which he swam at the 2023 World Juniors last September. His time today would have put him just over two seconds away from third place at the 2023 U.S. Championships and a spot on the World Championship squad.
Kai Van Westering won the 200m back in 2:00.00. His best time was 1:56.91 at the 2024 World Championships, where he finished seventh in the semifinals and eighth in the final.
Ryan Melani won the 200 IM in 2:02.42, ahead of Colin Geer, who finished in 2:02.79. Gear was slightly faster in qualifying, clocking a 2:02.70. Melani fell just short of his personal best time of 2:01.72.
Ira Spitz, who had the best time in the 200 free, also won the 200 in 2:11.64. Her best time to date was her 2:13.66 at the Wave II Trials. Spitz currently represents Israel at the international level.
The 1500 free was a close contest, with Kayla Hann winning in 16:26.13, just ahead of Gwen Woodberry, who finished in 16:26.34. Woodbury dropped more than 15 seconds from her personal best time, which she swam at the meet a year ago.
Devon Kitchell won the 200 IM, finishing in 2:16.38, just ahead of University of Michigan teammate Hannah Berard (2:16.91). Kitchell's previous career best was 2:17.04 in spring 2021. Kitchell fell just short of the 2:16.09 time at the trials.
Amy Fulmer once again hit the 55-second mark in the 100 free, clocking in at 54.87, about half a second closer than her lifetime best of 54.27, which she swam to win the 2023 U.S. Summer Nationals B final. Christina Pagel finished second with a score of 54.99, just shy of her personal best time of 54.56.
