One former Seminole whose name has been talked about in the draft for quite some time is star edge rusher Jared Verse. He had a great 2022 season after transferring to the program and continued to show potential in the 2023 season.
according to jordan schultz, the Chicago Bears host Verse in a top 30 visit. They have also visited UCLA's Laiatu Latu and Alabama's Dallas Turner. It looks like they could be one of the early candidates in the market for an edge rusher in the draft.
Vaas spent two seasons in Tallahassee wearing the garnet and gold after transferring to the program. In those two years, he had 18 sacks and 29.5 tackles for loss.
The Bears are looking to improve on the defensive side of the football, so bringing in a talented pass rusher like Barth would be a great start. A potential first-round pick, he relentlessly chases quarterbacks and is a big disruptor and playmaker in the backfield. He will also help spark a cultural shift.
The Bears will likely take USC's Caleb Williams with the No. 1 pick in the draft, marking the beginning of a new era. When Vaas arrived at Florida State, the program was coming off its first 10-win season under Mike Norvell and a rebuild was underway.
For reasons beyond his ability to attack the football, Vaas appears to be an incredible pick for the Bears who currently has an incredibly bright future.
