CEDAR FALLS โ The Northern Iowa volleyball program added some homegrown talent Monday night.
Cedar Falls middle blocker Grace Hannum posted on her Instagram and X (formerly known as Twitter) accounts announcing her decision to commit to UNI.
The junior simply conveyed his determination in a short statement, captioning a photo of himself wearing a UNI volleyball T-shirt.
โI am so excited to announce my commitment to play volleyball at the University of Northern Iowa!โ Hannum wrote. โGo Panthers!โ
Hannum, a Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier 2023 All-Metro Volleyball honoree, led the Tigers with 130 blocks and was second on the team with 190 kills. The 6-foot-1 standout had more than 100 attempts during the 2023 season and had the Tigers' highest efficiency (.256).

Hannum helped Cedar Falls qualify for the 2023 Class 5A state tournament, earning 5A Iowa Girls Coaches Association (IGCA) All-State second team and 5A East All-District selection as a junior.
Hannum started 81 games in two seasons as a full-time starter for the Tigers, posting 381 kills, a .287 batting average, and 212 blocks.
