The District 3 boys volleyball postseason first serve is scheduled for Tuesday, with each team entering the first round of play.
Carlisle, Cumberland Valley and Redlands are part of the playoff mix for the Class 3A bracket. The Thundering Herd will host Penn Manor in Tuesday's opener, while the Eagles will host the Patriots at Mountain View Middle School.Both games are scheduled for 7 p.m.

Penn Manor (11-6) vs. Carlisle (13-3)
How they got here:Carlisle finished the regular season with six wins in the last eight games, sharing the Mid-Penn Commonwealth Division title with CV and Central Dauphin. Penn Manor won four of its last six games entering the postseason.

Note:The Hurd has qualified for the playoffs for the third year in a row and is looking for a second consecutive first-round victory. Carlisle dominated Dallastown last spring, earning its first opening-round victory since 2008 and in the post-pool play era.
The Comets qualified for the district tournament last year for the first time since 2019. Penn Manor lost in the first round to eventual runner-up Central York by a 3-0 decision. The Comets will be looking for their first playoff win since 2017 on Tuesday.
Redlands (14-5) vs. Cumberland Valley (11-4)
How they got here:Although the Eagles stumbled in their final two games of the regular season, they still won eight of their final 11 games. The Patriots won seven of their final eight games, securing one of the final playoff spots.
next:Tuesday's winner will play either Red Lion or New Oxford in Thursday's quarterfinals.
Note:CV is the current 3A champion. Last year's blowout win over Central York gave the Eagles their first title since 2008 and second in program history. Bryson Walsh and Brennen Reavis lead the repeat hopefuls with 141 and 128 kills, while Isaiah Sivitt's 466 assists and Aidan Dunwoody's 165 digs are also tied for the co-federal champions.
Redlands is dipping its toe into postseason waters for the first time since 2017. The Patriots lost to Penn Manor in the first round that year, and were on the verge of winning the playoffs for the first time since 2012. The Pats are captained by a team of nine seniors.
