The 2024 Paris Olympics are just around the corner, which means it's time for the Olympic test.
The 2024 Olympic Swimming Games are scheduled to be held from May 13th to 19th at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Center in Toronto, and athletes on Canada's Olympic swimming team will be finalized over the course of a week.
At the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Swimming Canada won a total of six medals in the women's events. Margaret McNeill won the 100m butterfly, becoming the only gold medalist. Kylie Masse won silver in the 100-meter backstroke and 200-meter backstroke, and Penny Oleksiak won bronze in the 200-meter freestyle to round out the individual events. In relays, Canada won silver in the 4x100m freestyle relay and bronze in the 4x100m medley relay.

Olympic swimming rules you need to know
When it comes to Olympic swimming trials, it's pretty simple. The top two athletes in each race with a time below the Olympic Qualifying Time (OQT) will be on the Olympic team.
If an athlete finishes in the top two in their event at the Trials with a time below the OQT, they can still qualify for the team if they achieve the required time during the qualifying period.
The top four finishers in the 100 and 200 freestyle also qualify. This is for relay purposes. Winners of the 100-meter swim will stand to be added to the 400-meter medley relay team if they are not already eligible.
Additionally, Swimming Canada may make necessary additions to the relay at its sole discretion.
