The Calvary Baptist women's varsity soccer team ended its perfect season with a 3-2 come-from-behind victory over Upper Bucks Christian in the Atlantic Coast Christian Athletic Conference (ACCAC) tournament finals.
Aubrey Hampton put the Warriors within 2-2 in the second half, Morgan Boyle scored the go-ahead goal and Calvary Baptist rallied to finish 10-0 and win both the conference regular season and playoff titles. .
Grace Reeder scored the Warriors' first goal and then assisted on Hampton's tying goal. Macy Ridge assisted on Boyle's winning record.
Boyle, Reeder, Genesis Olallie, Sophia Ruch and goaltender Lydia Trevino were all named ACCAC All-Conference, and Reeder was named conference MVP. Hampton earned all-tournament honors.
Upper Bucks Christian jumped out to a 1-0 lead early in the game. For the next 15 minutes, both teams battled for the ball, sending shots on the edge of the net before Calvary Baptist took a direct free kick to tie the score. Warriors captain Reeder's strike from 40 yards into the top right corner made it 1-1.
Upper Bucks regained the lead after halftime, but Calvary Baptist fought back again, this time scoring on a corner kick. Reeder sent the ball and Hampton stood up and put his head into the back of the net to seal the game.
Calvary Baptist captain Olalie's defense was crucial in the game remaining 2-2, as her ball control and distribution helped thwart Upper Bucks Christian's attack.
The Warriors' first goal started with a great play as right midfielder Ruch found Lidge with an accurate 30-yard pass. Ridge broke through the Upper Bucks' midfield and sent the ball into space for Boyle, who fired a shot into the net to give Calvary Baptist a 3-2 lead.
Calvary Baptist continued to set the pace for the final eight minutes until the final whistle blew, announcing the Warriors' victory and ending the season undefeated.
