No. 7 Bears play No. 10 Long Beach State in first-round rematch
Berkeley โ California's beach volleyball team will dance for the third consecutive year Sunday morning after clinching a spot in the NCAA Championships. The No. 7 Golden Bears (28-9) have the highest seeding in school history and will face No. 10 Long Beach State (21-13) in a first-round game Wednesday at 12:00 pm PT. Compete against.
Cal heads to Gulf Shores, Alabama, for a first-round rematch against Beach, which the Bears defeated 3-2 last season to win their first NCAA championship. Long Beach won seven of the past nine tournaments, including a win over top-seeded Cal Poly in the Big West Championship semifinals, but lost to Hawaii in the final round.
On the other side of the bracket is a potential second rematch with UCLA, with the No. 2 Bruins taking on No. 15 Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
The 17-team, single-elimination tournament will be televised on the ESPN family of networks. ESPNU will broadcast Friday's opener, Saturday's game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and Sunday's final game will be broadcast on ESPN. Additional championship information can be found at NCAA.com.
