The Indiana Pacers defeated the Milwaukee Bucks at home in Game 6 on Thursday, but there was another moment in the game that made headlines.
Late in the fourth quarter, with Milwaukee leading 114-94, Bucks guard Patrick Beverley was seen throwing a basketball at Pacers fans behind the bench.
A fan passed the ball over his head to Beverley, who immediately threw the ball back to the fan, which hit another fan.
As fans and Beverley continued to exchange words, Bucks staff and security intervened to de-escalate the situation.
Beverley responded to the incident on social media.
“It's not fair at all,” Beverley posted on X (formerly Twitter) after the match. “There was an exchange all night between the fans and our baseball club. We warned all night and asked for help. It's not fair. [two prayer emojis, one red heart emoji]. ”
When asked about that moment in the post-game interview, Beverley said: there is nothing. “
Third-seeded Milwaukee lost the game 120-98 and was eliminated in six games by the sixth-seeded Pacers. For the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo did not play at all in the series due to injury, and Damian Lillard and others also missed important time.
Beverley played 40 minutes in Game 6, posting six points, five assists, and two rebounds on 3-of-11 shooting overall.
The Pacers will face the second place New York Knicks in the second round of the East.
