Mick Cronin has decided to move on for the sixth time this offseason.
Former Loyola Marymount guard Dominique Harris plans to lace up his sneakers in Westwood this fall, according to Tracy Pearson of Bruin Report Online. The 6-foot-4 wing will be a graduate transfer, but Pearson indicated he has two seasons of collegiate eligibility for the Blue and Gold due to the season suspension due to COVID-19.
Harris started his collegiate career at Gonzaga University in 2020, but transferred to Loyola Marymount (a short distance) away from UCLA for the 2023-24 season. He had a breakout season last year, averaging 14.3 points, .429/.448/.783 shooting splits, 3.3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 0.5 steals in 24 games. What was his best season scoring average? 3 points per game.
It will be interesting to see where he fits into the talented but underperforming incumbent guard. He joins former Louisville Cardinals guard Skye Clark, former USC Trojans small forward Kobe Johnson, former Oklahoma State power forward Eric Daley Jr., and former Oregon State big man Tyler Bilodeau. He becomes the sixth transfer player to join the Bruins this offseason. Former South Dakota State sharpshooter William Kyle III.
This certainly looks like a solid transfer group and could help turn Mick Cronin's club from a club with a 16-17 record to an NCAA Tournament runner-up contender next year.
