Tuscarawas Twp. — Tuslaw High School is looking to turn to a coach with a very recent career to turn things around for the Mustangs football program.

The board meeting will be held on Monday. He replaces Matt Galing, who went 6-24 in three seasons as Tuslaw's head coach.

Dial will also be employed as a teacher in the district, according to a news release from Tuslow.

Dial resigned as Dalton's head coach on Jan. 11, more than a month after leading the Bulldogs to a memorable run to the OHSAA Division VII state finals. Ohio's small school powerhouse Marion Local defeated Dalton 38-0 in the title game in Canton.
Dial went 12-4 in the playoffs over the past four seasons and 14-7 overall in the postseason.
Dial graduated from Northwest High School in 2004 and was an All-Ohio offensive lineman. He helped Northwest go 10-0 in the regular season his senior year. He also led Dalton to a 10-0 regular season in 2017.
He earned a teaching degree in history from Baldwin Wallace and a master's degree in school leadership from Concordia University.
The 2023 Mustangs are 2-8, losing the last seven games of the season (all league games). Since going 2-5 in the PAC-7 in 2019, the Mustangs have won just one league game on the season. Since 2019, the Mustangs have a total of 11 wins and 37 losses.
Their last winning season was in 2018, when they finished 6-5 after losing to league rival Orville in the first round of the playoffs. Tusrow was 4-3 in his PAC-7 play that year.
