GULF SHORES, Ala. (WKRG) — The NCAA Championship Beach Volleyball bracket is set this weekend in Gulf Shores.
Seventeen collegiate women's beach volleyball teams from around the country were selected on Sunday, and competition begins this Friday.
North Florida State and Chattanooga State begin play at 8 a.m. Friday to determine who will secure the final spot in the first round against top-seeded Southern California, which has won each of the past three national championships. do.
The first round begins Friday at 9 a.m., with the final game of the first round scheduled for 4 p.m.
1st round pairings and schedule:
- 9 a.m., No. 4 seed Florida State vs. No. 13 seed Washington State.
- 10 a.m., No. 5 seed Cal Poly vs. No. 12 Arizona State.
- 11 a.m., No. 1 seed Southern California vs. No. 16 North Florida/Chattanooga.
- Noon, No. 8 seed Loyola Marymount (Calif.) vs. No. 9 seed Hawaii.
- 1 p.m., No. 15 seed Texas A&M-Corpus Christi vs. No. 2 seed UCLA.
- 2 p.m., No. 10 seed Long Beach State vs. No. 7 seed California.
- 3 p.m., No. 14 seed Georgia State vs. No. 3 seed Stanford.
- 4 p.m., 11th-seeded LSU vs. 6th-seeded TCU
The quarterfinals are scheduled for Saturday morning.
Quarterfinal pairings and schedule:
- Winner of Southern California or Northern Florida/Chattanooga vs. Loyola Marymount (California) vs. Hawaii (9 a.m.)
- 10 a.m., winner of California State University and Arizona State University vs. winner of Florida State University and Washington State University.
- Winner of Georgia State and Stanford vs. Winner of LSU and TCU at noon.
- 11 a.m., winner of Long Beach State and California vs. winner of Texas A&M-Corpus Christi and UCLA
The semi-finals are scheduled for Saturday at 1pm and 2:30pm.The championship will be held on Sunday at 10 a.m.
