HARRIS — Friday, the day Christina Bower signed her letter of intent to Bay College, wasn't just an ordinary day.
Bower plans to attend classes this fall and play volleyball and softball as a Scandinavian. “I really like Coach Bay.” Bauer said. “It's close to home and my family can come watch me play, which is important to me.”
Bower plans to study elementary education at Bay College. “I love working with children and seeing how teachers interact with children really got me interested in this field.” Ms. Bower is currently participating in the Elementary Teaching Program at Bark River Harris School. “She loves teaching people.” said volleyball coach Emily Soper. “She loves being around people and imparting wisdom to them. As a teacher myself, I appreciate that.”
Bower is a great athlete and teammate. “She always puts in the time and effort.” Soper said. “She’s always there to help her teammates and she’s everything you want in an athlete.
Bower was a three-sport athlete who played volleyball, basketball and softball for the Broncos. “I am very excited to join the University of the Bay volleyball program.” Coach Dan Porras said. “She will add depth where we need it, especially in the setting position.”
