Allentown, Pennsylvania โ Graduate school transfer jack buco (South Windsor, Conn.) will participate in a professional tryout (PTO) with the American Hockey League's Lehigh Valley Phantoms for the remainder of the 2023-24 season, as announced by the team on Monday afternoon. Buco joined the Nittany Lions this season after spending four years in Vermont, and spent his first year in the Blue and White, ranking third on the team with 12 goals, 15 assists, and 27 points, both career highs in a single season. Ta. . Buco's 12 goals ranked third on the team, and his six power play goals ranked second, tied for second in program history.
Buco scored the 12th hat trick in Penn State history in a 9-3 win over Lindenwood in November and finished the year with five multi-point games. The South Windsor, Conn., native finished his collegiate career with 29 goals and 48 assists for 77 points in 143 games.
Joining Buco from the East is a former co-captain and 2023 graduate. Tyler Gratton, his younger brother Chris is in his first season as the Phantoms' assistant strength coach. Gratton played in 123 games with the Nittany Lions from 2019-23, recording 20 goals, 14 assists and 34 points before spending his final college season at Arizona State in 2023-24.
