- The Blue Marlins are doing great at BASA!
A total of 12 swimmers from the Blue Marlins Swimming Club participated in the Barbados Swimming Association (BASA) Invitational Swimming Championships held in Barbados from the 23rd to the 28th.rd Up to 26Number May 2024. 23 swimming clubs took part in the meet, which featured local and international swimmers.
Blue Marlins Swimming Club won a total of 19 medals: 1 gold, 8 silver and 10 bronze. Several swimmers had outstanding performances: Hazen Da Briel in the 13-14 age division won a total of 7 medals: 4 silver and 3 bronze.
He also broke two national records in the 800m freestyle and 400m freestyle, with Tyre St. Hilliard winning the bronze medal in the women's event.
There were also a number of noteworthy results in the 11-12 boys and girls categories. Jaydon Hamilton won a total of eight medals: three silver and five bronze. Belle Adams won one bronze and Cagley Williams won two medals in total: one gold and one silver.
Other swimmers who represented the club at the meet were Jod Baker, Malik Mayers, Loren Sam, Zaria Samuel, Zane Da Briel, Sage Jobe and Raya Adams, several of whom achieved personal best times. The team was accompanied to the competition by coach Alyssa Davis.
