The crowning glory of the 2023-24 high school basketball season went into overtime, and there was a lot of bleeding until May.
Bloomington South's Julia Lashley and Vincent Moutardier and North's Luke Lindeman are invited to the 22nd Annual Indiana Basketball Coaches Association/IHSAA Top 100 Underclass Showcase Basketball Event at Ben Davis in Indianapolis It was done.
The women's event will take place on June 13th and will feature 131 competitors, including Lashley, from 12:30pm to 5:30pm.
The men's tournament will be held on June 28th and will feature 120 athletes, including Moutardier and Lindemann. He will be held in two sessions from 11am to 2:45pm and 3pm to 6:45pm. Showcase events are open to the public. Tickets are $5.
AP All-State Basketball Team Announced
The AP All-State Basketball Team, as voted on by Indiana media, was recently announced.
The boys first team is led by top vote-getter Florrie Bidunga of Kokomo. The 6-foot-9 senior was also nicknamed Mr. Basketball. Joining him will be seniors Jack Venter of Brownstown Central, KJ Windham of Ben Davis, Keenan Garner of Fishers and Evan Haywood of Brebeuf Jesuit.
The second team includes juniors Trent Sisley of Heritage Hills, Braylon Mullins of Greenfield Central, Azavier Robinson of Lawrence North, and Isaac Andrews of Wapahani and Micah Davis of Franklin.
Recipients of the honorable mention were North's Lindeman and Connor O'Guinn, South's Moutardier and Edgewood's Mialyn White.
The girls first team was led by Bedford North Lawrence senior Chloe Spreen, the top vote getter. Joining her will be Noblesville senior Regan Wilson. Jordyn Poole of Fort Wayne Snyder and Julianne Woodard of Jennings County, and junior Jayla Lampley of Lawrence Central.
The second team includes seniors Faith Wiseman (Indian Creek), Talia Farris (Fishers), Eva Ziolkowski (Crown Point) and juniors Maya Makarsky (Hamilton Southeastern) and Kira Reynolds ( South Bend Washington).
Special awards went to North's Mia Robenolt and Eastern Green's Keeley Hudson.

Indiana Women's Athletic Association coaches recognized several area athletes.
The Academic All-State selections for women's basketball were South's Kate Barrada and Edgewood's Maris Holmes.
All-state academic athletes in gymnastics were Claire Dunn and Jessica Floyd from North and Audrey Freeman-Day and Morgan Cockerill from South. Awards of Excellence went to Claire Lutz, Maddie Kawanishi and Stella Eibling of the South.
On the ICGSA All-State list, Floyd and Garcia made the first team and Kawanishi made the second team.
Kawanishi was also the recipient of the annual Gymnastics ICGSA Athlete Scholarship. She was awarded her 10 $1,000 scholarships given to seniors, one from each of her 10 divisions in IHSAA women's sports.
