teenager Olivia Wunsch With just two weeks to go until the Australian Olympic Trials, Wunsch recorded a personal best in the 100m freestyle, swimming in 53.58 seconds, faster than her previous personal best of 53.71 seconds.
Wunsch's previous personal best was 53.71 seconds when she won gold at the 2023 World Junior Championships last September. She also won the 50m freestyle at the World Junior Championships in 24.59 seconds.
Her previous season's best was 53.99 seconds in mid-April. Her time today ranks her 21st in the world in this event this season and is the seventh fastest by an Australian athlete this season.

The 100m freestyle is a deep event for the Australian women. Only seven swimmers in the world have broken 53 seconds this season, including O'Callaghan, Harris and Jack. The Australian women will be looking to defend their Olympic title in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay after setting a world record in Tokyo, winning by more than three seconds.
Wunsch competed in the 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 100m butterfly at the trials, as well as the 100m freestyle, and will compete in the 50m freestyle and 50m butterfly this weekend as a warm-up for the Brisbane event.
