Andrew Balbirnie's 77 points helped Ireland win their opening T20I by five wickets in Dublin on Friday, their first win over Pakistan in 17 years.
The opening innings was crucial as Ireland reached their target of 183 with the ball in hand.
The victory gave Ireland a 1-0 lead in their third consecutive match against Pakistan, who will also play in the group stages of next month's T20 World Cup in the United States and West Indies.
It was Ireland's second win against Pakistan after their shock victory in the 50-over World Cup in 2007.
Pakistan captain and star batsman Babar Azam was the top scorer for the tourists on Friday with 57 runs at a total of 6 for 182, while Saim Ayub's 45 runs were also notable.

“I didn't watch it till the end. (I) went to the tent and put a towel over my head,” Balbirnie, who shared the third wicket stand at 77th place with Harry Tector, said at the presentation ceremony.
“I felt it was my job to get the team over the line…Harry said that if we batted normally until the 13th over, we would score runs. That's how we started the partnership. It is.”
Meanwhile, Azam absolved the bowlers of any responsibility for the defeat. “I think 190 was a par score,” he said.
“We lost on defense and hitting. (I) don't think we executed that plan. We had very few defensive mistakes and it cost us.
“We attacked in the first six overs but didn’t finish well.”
Ireland needed 40 overs to win with four overs left and Abbas Afridi dismissed George Dockrell in 24 overs.
In the next match, with Ireland demanding 28 more from 17 balls, Shadab Khan was unable to convert a tough chance, giving Balbirnie a reprieve.
After the penultimate end, Ireland's goal was reduced to 19.
But Pakistan's fleet-footed Shaheen Shah Afridi bowled Balbani with a low full toss, ending an impressive 55-ball innings in the opener that included 10 fours and two sixes.
Ireland needed 11 from the final over when Curtis Campher under-edged Abbas for a boundary and a leg-bye ultimately clinched victory.
The teams will meet again in Dublin on Sunday and Tuesday.
