men's ice hockey
The East Haven Co-op boys ice hockey team entered the Division II state tournament as the No. 15 seed. In the first round on March 5, the Yellow Jackets faced No. 2 West Haven, winning 6-1. John Dalbello took the lead in the first period with an unassisted shorthanded goal.
East Haven scored four points in the second period. These were scored by Lorenzo DeFilio (assist to Preston Cantele), Griffin McGlinchey (assist to Dalbello and Cantele), DeFilio (assist to McGlinchey and Dalbello), and McGlinchey (assist to Cantele) .
In the third frame, Mike Sabo found the net with an assist from Nick Perillo.
For East Haven, Mike Fritz allowed one goal in net, but made 30 saves.
In the second round on March 8, the team faced 7th place Guilford and won 5-2. The Yellow Jackets scored four points in the second period. Those points were scored by Landon Cantele (no assist), McGlinchey (assist for Defilio), McGlinchey (assist for Preston Cantele), and Dalbello (no assist).
In the third period, Perillo scored a power-play goal with assists from Landon Kantele and Carter McGlinchey. Fritz defended the net, making 18 saves and allowing two goals.
women's ice hockey
The Hand Women's Ice Hockey Cooperative team received a bye in the first round of the SCC tournament as the second seed. In the semi-finals on February 21st, the team faced 3rd placed Hampden Co-op, losing 1-4.
The team then entered the state tournament as the No. 8 seed, but lost 7-5 to No. 9 Hampden Co-op in the first round on February 26.
