Late in the second set, it looked like the Eagles had tied the set at 26-all, but after the referee's press conference, it was determined that the Eagles had missed a call, and EHT's points disappeared in post-critical time. Despite the loss to Egg Harbor Township, Eagles coach Christian Wieck said it was the right move.
“The referee's decision was correct,” Wiehy said. “They got together and realized they didn't get the call and that it was supposed to be a replay. No harm done, no foul play.”
Samin Ishlaq scored seven goals for the Blades, and Xavier Vazquez had 18 assists. Christian Vitienrat had six kills for Egg Harbor Township.
Wiehy said it was a great game for his team to learn from making the playoffs.
“We already won the conference championship and a tournament trophy would have been nice, but Absegami absolutely deserved it today,” said Egg Harbor Township coach Weehy. “They outplayed us. They played consistently well throughout the game and hats off to them.”
