Clifton Park, New York โ defender Kendall Cooper and kate riley They have been named to the All-ECAC Third Team for the 2023-24 season, as announced by the league office on Tuesday, February 27th.
The two blueliners have been the mainstays of the Bobcats' back end this season, each appearing in all 34 regular season games and totaling 70 points.
Cooper was named to the conference's second team a season ago and is now a back-to-back All-ECAC defender. She ranked fifth among ECAC defenders in scoring, blocking 51 shots and recording a +16 rating. She had 17 points with four goals and 13 assists in ECAC play.
The Burlington, Ont., native was named ECAC Defender of the Week twice this season and had nine multi-point games, tied with Riley for the most by a Bobcat player this season.
kate riley He was named to the All-ECAC team for the first time since being named All-Rookie in 2020. She led all ECAC defenders in scoring with 38 points and 28 assists on 10 goals. In her ECAC play, she scored 25 points with 7 goals and 18 assists. She currently leads the Bobcats with a +23 rating.
Riley was named ECAC Defender of the Week twice and ECAC Defender of the Month for December 2023. She and Cooper led the Bobcats in scoring this season with a combined 18 multi-point games. The Richmond, B.C., native also broke the program record for points scored by a defender, currently sitting at his career points mark of 98 heading into this weekend.
Cooper, Riley and the Bobcats head to Ithaca, New York this weekend for a best-of-three series against Cornell University in the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals. Games will be held from Friday, March 1st until Sunday, March 3rd (if necessary), all at 3pm at Rainerink.
