White is a 2023-24 Atlantic Coast Conference Graduate Scholar and is majoring in medicinal chemistry with a 3.97 grade point average. Scholar Athlete of the Year is a new league award that recognizes a CHA player who has demonstrated excellence in the classroom, community and on the ice. The Kingston, Ontario native is a three-time National Hockey Coaches Association Scholar and a three-time College Hockey America (CHA) All-American selection. The 2023-24 team captain received the 2023 College Sports Communicator of the Year Academic All-District award for his outstanding performance in the classroom and on the ice. A three-time selection to the Atlantic Coast Conference Academic Honor Roll, White participates in bioengineering research at Syracuse. She served as chair of the Syracuse Student-Athlete Advisory Committee for 2022-23. Since 2019, White has been managing and coaching youth hockey camps in her hometown.
White, a finalist for the league's Best Defensive Forward award, ranks eighth in the nation in faceoff wins this season with six goals, 14 assists for 20 points, and 26 blocks. The CHA Best Defensive Forward honor goes to the skater who is the best two-way forward in the league. White played in every situation throughout the season, including on the Orange's power play, ranking 15th nationally with 19 goals, fourth in the CHA, and 18th nationally in power play success rate. She has a career record of 54 points (18 goals and 36 assists) and her 862 match wins, which ranks sixth in Syracuse history. The Orange won the CHA regular season and postseason titles and earned an invitation to the NCAA Tournament during White's second season.
Teslak scored 22 points, including eight goals and 14 assists in 30 games, earning All-College Hockey America First Team Defenseman honors for the 2023-24 season. The Cranbrook, British Columbia, native was Syracuse's second-leading scorer and ranked third among CHA defensemen in scoring. White played in every situation throughout the season, including on the Orange's power play, ranking 15th nationally with 19 goals, fourth in the CHA, and 18th nationally in power play success rate. She scored four goals on special teams this season, including three power plays, one shorthanded and five multi-point games, earning her three CHA Defenseman of the Week honors. Teslak is the 12th Syracuse skater to earn All-CHA First Team honors and the 17th time a Syracuse player has been selected to the First Team.
Weiss, who was on the ice the most out of all players in league play, only committed two penalties in four minutes. The Plover, Wis., native played in every situation throughout the season, including on the Orange's power play, ranking 15th nationally with 19 goals, fourth in the CHA, and 18th nationally in power play success percentage. It was done. She led the Orange team with 16 assists and scored four goals for 20 points. Her 44 blocks were tied for third on Syracuse's roster.
Syracuse skaters have earned CHA postseason honors multiple times. Five different student-athletes received the Best Defensive Forward award. Lauren Bellefontaine (2022 and 2023) and Margo Scharfe (2012 and 2013) have both won twice in their careers. An Orange skater has won the award each of the past three years, with Bellefontaine winning the award the past two seasons and Abby Moloney winning the award in 2021. Stephanie Grossi (2018) and Jessica Sibley (2016) are also Syracuse recipients.
Five Orange defensemen have won the league's Defensiveman of the Year award, including four consecutive years from 2019 to 2022. Allie Munroe won the award twice, in 2017 and 2019, which started Syracuse's winning streak. Lindsay Eastwood was named CHA Defenseman of the Year in 2020, and Jessica DiGirolamo won the award in 2021 and 2022. Akane Hosoyamada won the award in 2013, and Nicole Renaud won the award in 2016.
Four Syracuse student-athletes have received the CHA Individual Sportsmanship Award, including Molowney, who won in 2020 and 2033, Scharfe (2012), Holly Carey-Matimeau (2013), and Grossi. (2018) is included.
