Organizers have revealed ambitious plans to build a 34,000-seat stadium in New York state to host eight matches in this year's ICC Men's Twenty20 World Cup tournament.
The project, which recently began at Eisenhower Park in Nassau County, 30 miles east of Manhattan, is expected to be completed within three months and will feature premium and general admission seats, as well as VIP and There will also be a hospitality suite for parties. “We are excited to open the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York to the public ahead of the 2024 ICC Men's T20 World Cup,” ICC CEO Geoff Allardyce said in a news release.

The stadium was designed by Populous, a world-class sports and entertainment venue architecture firm. Populous has designed some of the world's most iconic stadiums, including New York's Yankee Stadium and the world's largest cricket stadium, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, India.
The tournament will be co-hosted by the Caribbean and the United States from June 1 to 29, with 20 international teams playing 55 matches across nine host venues.
This will be the first time the United States will host a T20 World Cup, with the first round of 16 matches to be played between Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, Grand Prairie Cricket Stadium in Dallas, Texas, and Broward County Regional Stadium in Florida.
The Caribbean teams will be playing at the Vivian Richards Cricket Ground in Antigua, Kensington Oval in Barbados, National Cricket Stadium in Guyana, Darren Sammy Cricket Ground in St. Lucia, Anos Vale Sports Complex in St. Vincent and Brian – Matches will be held at Lara Cricket Academy.
