First Star: Matt Gresko, Howell-Matawan
Gresko was a hero for Howell Matawan on Friday night, scoring two goals and three points in a 4-3 win over Brick in the South in the Public Co-op quarterfinals. Ta. His second goal came in overtime, giving the Rebels the win.
Second star: Jack Scally, Ridgewood
Scali was once again a wall in goal for Ridgewood, making 42 saves in a shutout victory as Ridgewood defeated Ramapo 3-0 in the North Public quarterfinal round. The shutout was Scali's third of the year, and the second time he had to make 40 or more saves in a game.
Third Star: Liam Forster, Ocean Township Shore Monmouth
Forster's goal was all Ocean Township Shore Monmouth needed to defeat Robbinsville Allentown 1-0 in the South Public Co-op quarterfinals Friday night. Forster's goal came with 10:44 left in the third period as Roman Leonardi pitched a 48-save shutout.
