Hamden, Connecticut โ The Bobcats announced their 11-game non-league schedule on Tuesday afternoon, setting the stage for their non-conference schedule for the 2024-25 men's ice hockey regular season.
After an exhibition match against Northeastern University on October 6th, Rand PecknoldThe team will open the 2024-25 regular season at home against Penn State at M&T Bank Arena on Oct. 12, marking the first meeting between the two schools.
Two Hockey East rivals await after that, as Quinnipiac returns to Alfond Arena to face the University of Maine on Oct. 18 and 19, then plays at home against the University of New Hampshire on Oct. 25 and 26. Those weekends were the same as last season, when the Bobcats and Black Bears played to a draw in Hamden and the Wildcats got one win against Quinnipiac in Durham.
Quinnipiac will return to Worcester, Massachusetts, for one game against College of the Holy Cross on Nov. 2 before playing ECAC play the following weekend.
The holiday break features four games in eight days, including games against AIC (Dec. 29), Northeastern (Jan. 4) and Stonehill (Jan. 6), with a league game against Harvard on Jan. 1 sandwiched in between.
The fifth annual CT Ice Tournament will be held at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield on Jan. 24 and 25. The Bobcats have won the past three times in this tournament, winning last season with a come-from-behind 4-3 victory over host UConn at the XL Center.
