Everything Clan Fans Need to Know About the Warrior Invitational Pro Tournament
The Glasgow Clan will compete in the inaugural Warrior Invitational Pro Tournament, taking place the weekend of Saturday, August 31st and Sunday, September 1st in Kaufbeuren.
The pre-season competition will also feature Red Bull Salzburg, Jokerlitt Helsinki and hosts ESV Kaufbeuren.
About the team
EC Red Bull Salzburg
The Red Bull Salzburg Ice Hockey Team (also known as EC Red Bull Salzburg) is a powerhouse in Austrian ice hockey. Since being acquired by Red Bull in 2000, the team has dominated the Austrian Ice Hockey League (EBEL & ICEHL) with numerous league titles and domestic cup wins. Their home matches at Ice Arena Salzburg are known for their intense atmosphere. With a focus on talent development and excellence, they have remained a force to be reckoned with in European ice hockey.
Jokerit Helsinki
Founded in 1967, Jokerit Helsinki is a Finnish ice hockey powerhouse, having won multiple Finnish championships and gaining international attention by joining the KHL in 2014. Playing at Hartwall Arena, Jokerit boasts a passionate fan base and a tradition of excellence in European hockey.
ESV Kaufbeuren
Founded in 1946, ESV Kaufbeuren is a renowned ice hockey club located in Kaufbeuren, Germany. They compete in the DEL2 league and have won numerous titles and cups. Their home games are known for the lively atmosphere at the Erdgas Schwaben Arena, which also hosts their invitational professional tournaments.
Tournament Schedule
On Saturday, the Clan will face newly crowned ICEHL champions RedBull Salzburg in the first semifinal (starts at 2:30 p.m.), while Jokerit will take on ESVK in the second semifinal (starts at 6:30 p.m.).
On Sunday, the losers of the semi-finals will play off for third place (starting at 2:30 p.m.), while the winners of the semi-finals will advance to the tournament final (starting at 6:30 p.m.).
