The New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) returns to Buffalo's LECOM HarborCenter to host its 45th tournament.Number The annual boys ice hockey state championships will be held March 9 and 10. LECOM Harbor Center has hosted the tournament since 2016.
“This is an exciting time of year for winter sports, and boys' ice hockey is no exception,” said Scott Stewart, NYSPHSAA boys' ice hockey state coordinator. “Teams have been battling all year for the top spot in their division and a chance to advance to the next stage and compete for a big prize. Regionals will feature some great teams battling it out, culminating in an incredible Final Four weekend. Only one team will be crowned state champion in each division, but the competition and the great memories our student-athletes have experienced will stay with them forever.”
In 2023, West Genesee (Section III) defeated defending champion Suffern (I) in the Division 1 championship game. West Genesee was runner-up in 2022 after a long hiatus since its first and only championship in 2010. In Division 2, Skaneateles (Section III) won the title, marking its second state championship since 2019. Both Suffern and Skaneateles will return to Buffalo for the 2024 state tournament, consisting of two semifinal games in each division, on Saturday, March 9.Numberand then one championship per division will be held on Sunday, March 10th.Number.
Tickets can be purchased online exclusively through GoFan for $11.50 per day (including fees), and the event will be streamed on the NFHS Network, the official broadcast partner of the NYSPHSAA State Championships.
