The opening week of the local high school ice hockey summer league continued on Wednesday with two more games taking place at Southgate Arena.
Game one featured the teams from Gibraltar Carlson and Grosse Ile battling it out, while the nightcap pitted Catholic League foes Dearborn Divine Child again Riverview Gabriel Richard.
The abbreviated exhibition contests are two 22-minute halves in length. Designed as an early gelling and development period for clubs, the league runs for the next five weeks, excluding the annual ‘dead week’ in the first week of July, with a pair of games taking place Monday through Thursday each week.
