Ahead of the June 4 primary election, Tama Grundy Publications reporter Ruby McAllister sent out questionnaires to all candidates running in contested races for the Tama County Board of Supervisors, including the Republican nominees in Districts 1, 3, 4 and 5. This week, the paper is featuring District 5 Republican nominees Ronica Utterback, Kurt Kupka and Steve Van de Walle, all of Chelsea.
The 5th District is a large, mostly rural district covering the southern part of the county, including Meskwaki Settlement, Montour, Chelsea, Vining and Elberon.
Bruce Lenhart of Tama City ran in the 4th District in the Democratic primary election.
The winner of the June 4 Republican primary will run in the general election on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
