Two of the matches in this series were cancelled, disrupting both teams' World Cup preparations.
Pakistan started on a strong note and led 59-0 by the final ball of the powerplay when Jofra Archer (1/31) got Babar Azam (36 off 22) out.
Pakistan then lost three wickets in nine balls to slump from 83-2 to 86-5 before being dismissed by rain at 91-5 after 10.4 overs.
After play resumed, Liam Livingstone recorded his first double-wicket haul when Usman Khan (38) was run out with a brilliant diving catch from Chris Jordan at long-on.
England were flawless on the field – Pakistan were dismissed with one ball remaining in their innings – and ruthless with the bat, with Buttler back in action after leaving the team earlier this week to attend the birth of his third child.
In reply, they were leading 78-0 after the powerplay when Salt holed out in the deep for the first of Haris Rauf's (3-38 in 3.3 overs) three wickets.
Will Jacks scored 20 while batting third, before two more big batsmen from England's powerful top five, Bairstow and Brook, bowled out Pakistan.
England head to the Caribbean with title hopes in hand.
“There's a good vibe going around the team,” Butler said. “Everybody is stepping up and doing their thing.”
