The 21st annual Run to Remember honoring fallen first responders and military personnel drew thousands of participants on Memorial Day in Boston. “I always try to help them, give them the respect they deserve and remember them,” said runner Diego Lira. More than 3,500 runners completed the half marathon and 2,400 completed the 5-mile race. Another runner, Nolan Carreiro, said the race was an opportunity to remember fallen military members. “They sacrificed so much and now it's time to show them a little bit of respect. This race is a great opportunity to honor them and give back,” Carreiro said. The winner of the half marathon was a member of the Los Angeles Police Department.
