The complaint also lists numerous incidents that have occurred since 2020, saying “APD responded to at least 12 calls for service as a result of fatal shootings, attempted shootings, stabbings, threats of harm, physical disputes, thefts and disturbance of the peace.”
One of the most serious incidents included in the complaint occurred on Aug. 8, 2020, when police responded to a shooting at the club and found a man with an AR-15 rifle in his hand and a handgun in his pocket.
There were also recent reports of violence in which a gunman still in the street shot and killed 20-year-old Nakkilis Ridley after two people started fighting inside the club, police said.
The gunman also killed Clayton, a senior and volleyball player at the University at Albany.
Clayton's niece, 22-year-old Taylor Holmes, was also shot, but she survived the deadly shootout along with three others.
“We want whoever did this to be caught and we want everyone to know how loved she was,” Clayton's sister, Terrier Wheeler, said.
