DCFC is not a typical team, and the new stadium is not a typical structure.
The architects envisioned a unique and distinctive home for the team and fans, promising an experience like no other. They said they are already working hard on building such a home.
DCFC CEO Sean Mann said: “It was important to us to create an intimate and memorable venue, the right size to put fans right above the action, but with modern features that we currently don't have. It also has many amenities.” .
DCFC crews held an owners meeting on Monday (May 20) night.
“We think this is the next step and the biggest story in American sports,” owner Alex Wright said.
DCFC gave the public the opportunity to invest in and own the team, and the owners showed up excited about what the future holds.
The property has been purchased, but final financing for construction is currently being considered.
“You can't talk about things until they're over or until they're real,” Wright said.
They are not yet completed but are underway and they envision the stadium becoming the home of DCFC and others.
“We are in negotiations with other potential users, so we don't consider ourselves just a DCFC,” Mann said. “Those types of relationships are happening now.”
