Registration is now open for North Smithfield Parks & Recreation's summer youth volleyball program, which will be held on Tuesday nights from July 9th to August 13th. The program is open to youth ages 12 and under from 5 to 6 p.m., and youth ages 13 and older from 6 to 6 p.m.7pm

spring concert
The North Smithfield High School Music Department will hold its annual Spring Concert on Wednesday, May 22nd and Thursday, May 23rd. The symphony orchestra and concert band will perform, and the choir will perform cabaret-style. Open ticket sales begin today, Monday, May 20th, and can be purchased for $10 at the high school headquarters.

Sign unveiling ceremony
This week, the North Smithfield Heritage Society, in collaboration with the National Park Service, the Blackstone River Heritage Corridor, and Friends of the Blackstone, unveiled an artwork designed and donated by Woonsocket's River's Edge Art Project. The new Wayfarer sign will be unveiled at Mamos Mill Park. The event will be held on Wednesday, May 22nd from 4pm on Mill Street in North Smithfield Park, where volunteers will also plant donated native tulip trees.
The public can attend the ceremony and learn about local history.
Well water workshop
The North Smithfield Groundwater Conservation Commission will host a free educational well water workshop on Wednesday, May 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at City Hall, 83 Greene Street. Learn how to protect your water from contamination and ask about proper testing. Maintenance will be done in collaboration with Alyson McCann, a well water specialist with URI Cooperative Extension. Doors open at 6pm and refreshments will be served.

Last graveyard tour
The final tour in the series at Hotchkiss Cemetery will be held this Saturday, May 25th, from 9 a.m. to noon. Take a 1-hour guided walking tour to learn about North Smithfield and the lives of Smithfield's oldest residents. Highlights include visiting veterans' graves, discovering old city graves, and some sad stories nearly lost to history. past.
Tours are held from April to May in commemoration of Cemetery Week. This special tour focuses on veterans and provides unique insight into their stories, sacrifices, and contributions. Participants may park at Union Cemetery on Smithfield Road, but please do not park on the paved road. In case of rain, please check the NSHA Facebook page for cancellations.
anniversary service
General Zenas R. Bliss Camp, 12 Sons of Civil War Veterans, will hold a Memorial Service at Slatersville Cemetery, NS003, off Greene Street, on Sunday, May 26th from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. will be held. Participants must park at North Smithfield City Hall. 83 Green Street. A portion of the picket fence in the adjacent Heritage Hall will be opened, providing easy access to the Heritage Hall grounds and access to downstairs restrooms. walking trip
Join a park ranger on a walking tour of Slatersville Cemetery on Sunday, May 26th from 1:00 to 2:00 pm in an event held in partnership with the North Smithfield Cultural Heritage Association. Learn the stories of local veterans who served in the Civil War. Participants will meet in front of Heritage Hall, located at 101 Greene Street.

Memorial Day Parade
LeClaire Kozlyk Logan Bassett VFW Post 6342 will hold its annual Memorial Day Ceremony on Monday, May 27th starting at 10:30 a.m. from Brigidos Market. The procession will march down Main Street to Memorial Town Hall, 1 Main Street, for a memorial service. The parade will be held at 11am. The parade then proceeds down School Street and ends at the Free Association Pavilion behind Lindy's Tavern.
Local scouts, the North Smithfield High School band, police and fire departments, town officials and veterans will be in attendance.
