Kerwin Dees is stepping down as Regent Prep's men's basketball coach, but will remain as the Rams' athletic director as he enters his 50th year in education.
Former Holland Hall assistant Bailey Miles will replace Dees as the Rams' men's basketball coach.
Dees coached the Rams, who went 161-99 in 10 seasons and qualified for the state tournament twice. Dees was an All-State Coach in 1988 and was named World Metro (now All-World) Coach of the Year in 2016. His first high school head coaching job was in 1978 at Prairie Grove, Arkansas. After serving there for six years, he held the position in Owasso for 17 years, followed by five years in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He has 552 wins in 38 seasons.
Dees will also serve as Regent High School's dean of students and hopes to assist girls' basketball head coach Hannah Neson.
“I look forward to working with the women’s coaches, my granddaughter, and my teammates on the women’s team,” Dees said. “I would like to have more flexibility to watch my other grandchildren compete at other schools, and I would like to be able to devote more time to my growing administrative duties at Regents.” Masu.”

Miles served as a graduate assistant on Travis Ford's staff at Oklahoma State University before returning to Furman University and then spending five years as an assistant at Holland Hall.
“Coach Miles understands, appreciates and shares the Regents' values,” Dees said. “He and his family have a rich history within the Regent community.
“He's preparing to take the next step as a head coach. He's a really good fit for the Regent.”
