Carrie Olsen is the Headline Sponsor of Chirpies Cricket Club and has supported the club for many years as a coach development sponsor.
Chirpies Cricket Club has grown significantly since it was set up in 2017 by founder James Counts after realizing there was a lack of junior cricket opportunities in Jersey. A small club was established among his son's friends in the backyard. Currently, his 146 children, ranging from ages 5 to 13, play in 14 classes a week, but the waiting list continues to grow and the club has expanded to include two adult teams.
This sponsorship will support the continued growth of each area of Chirpies Cricket Club, from providing the necessary kit and club shirts to all children, to sourcing and qualifying new coaches for our academy programme. Masu. The funding will also support the operation of the Chirpie Development Center at Les Quennevet School. The center works with the club's academy players and has enabled the Réquenneve School to restart its cricket program.
James Counts said: “This is an exciting period of growth for Chirpies and Carrie Olsen’s support will be invaluable as our classes are in ever-increasing demand. We want to continue to create opportunities for our cricket program and hope to one day see our players represent the Jersey national team and win the Jersey Cricket Premier League. We are one step closer to achieving these ambitious goals.”
Peter Jarman, partner at Carrie Olsen, said: “Many of us at Carrie Olsen have a personal connection to the Chirpies and have watched our kids grow from complete beginners to confident young players. It's a great organization founded on a spirit of fun and friendship, and one that Carrie Olsen is proud to support.
“The speed at which the club has transformed from a small group of friends to a large community of talented players is truly impressive and our sponsorship will help the club give more young Islanders the opportunity to play cricket. We know it helps.”
