EA Sports College Football 25 will be EA's first college football game in over a decade.
DALLAS — After more than a decade of disappearance, EA's college football game is back on the market.
And what better way to bring back an iconic staple of the video game and college football community than at the sport's unparalleled venue, the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas? EA Sports College Football 25 launches on July 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
The game's cover features Texas (formerly Southlake Carroll) quarterback Quinn Ewers, Colorado two-way player Travis Hunter and Michigan running back Donovan Edwards.
“It's going to be a huge game,” Ewers said on a video call with reporters. “I don’t care about NIL because just being on the cover is enough.”
The cover photo shoot took place at Cotton Bowl Stadium at Fair Park in Dallas.
Hunter, who plays cornerback and wide receiver, was a top recruit coming out of high school when he committed to Jackson State University in 2021 to be coached by Deion Sanders, shocking everyone. He followed Sanders to Colorado through the transfer portal in 2022.
Hunter said he is honored to be the cover athlete representing Colorado.
“I mean, a lot of little kids look up to me,” he said. “Stay humble and stay focused. …Tell your kids that you have to keep working. As long as you stay humble and continue to pursue your dreams, you will achieve everything you want to achieve.” ”
Hunter posted a behind-the-scenes look at the photo shoot on his YouTube channel.
Edwards said some of the best moments of his childhood were playing college football games on EA Sports with his best friends.
“It's a great feeling, not only to be back, but to be on the cover,” he said.
All 134 schools in the Football Bowl Subdivision will participate in this game.
EA Sports offered FBS players a minimum of $600 and a copy of the game to include their likeness. His NIL contract to promote the game through the ambassador program was also offered to some players.
Over 11,000 players accepted offers to join the game.
College Football 25 will be the first version of EA Sports' college football series to be released since 2013, when production of the game ceased after EA Sports was sued for using players' likenesses without compensation. . The NCAA's approval in 2021 to allow players to profit from brands opens the door for the game to be made again.
