Senior track and field standout Bryn Crandell looks at the Indian River High School girls' and boys' performances at the Henlopen Conference Tournament held last Thursday, May 9th and Monday, May 13th at Lake Forest High School. To highlight, we filmed two long distance running events.
Crandell won the 1,600-meter race in 5:15.61 and also won the 3,200-meter race in 10:57.71.
Senior teammate Lily Johnson took third place in the discus throwing 95 feet.
Junior Terra Berkheimer earned points in the high jump, long jump and triple jump events, as did senior pole vaulter Grace Robinson.
Junior Jenn Wu highlighted the boys' performance by placing third in the pole vault with a height of 11 feet, 6 inches. Senior Alexander Arnold also earned points in the pole vault.
The boys 4×100 meter team, consisting of sophomores Weston Warner and Davon Handy, junior Javion Chandler and freshman Sabyor Besics, also earned points.
The Indians will learn later this week which players will qualify for the DIAA state tournament to be held at Dover High School on Friday, May 17th and Saturday, May 18th.
