The Class 5A finals have been decided, with No. 1 Mountain Vista and No. 3 Rock Canyon advancing to Wednesday's title game.
The championship matches for the other three weight classes have not yet been determined.
On Wednesday at the University of Denver, the Golden Eagles (17-0-1) and Jaguars (14-0-5) remained undefeated with wins in their respective semifinals. Mountain Vista defeated No. 5 Ralston Valley on a walk-off goal from senior Riley McDonald in the 99th minute. Rock Canyon shut out No. 10 Heritage with goals from Gabby Bewdley, Macy Williams and Jocelyn Lyons.
After a scoreless draw on April 29, the teams will play Wednesday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park starting at 8 p.m.
Here's a quick look at the 4A-2A semifinals.
Class 4A
No. 9 Denver North (15-3) vs. No. 12 Lutheran (12-4) at the University of Northern Colorado Thursday at 5 p.m.
The Vikings allowed just one run in three postseason games, defeating No. 24 Riverdale Ridge, No. 25 Cheyenne Mountain and No. 17 Devlin in the opening three rounds.
Meanwhile, the Lions, returning to the title game for the second year in a row, upset No. 5 Meade in the second round and defeated No. 13 Green Mountain in the quarterfinals. Senior Brooklyn Bassey led the way, scoring six of Lutheran's 10 playoff goals.
No. 2 Northfield (16-0-2) will take on No. 14 Evergreen (12-5-1) at the University of Northern Colorado on Thursday at 7:30 p.m.
The Nighthawks defeated Windsor to win the 2022 4A title and return to the title game. They are led by four different players who have scored 10 or more goals this spring, including sophomore Olivia Galvan, who had a hat trick against No. 31 Gateway in the season opener.
Meanwhile, the Cougars are looking to advance to the 4A finals for the fourth time since 2017 and win their first state title since 1997. Sophomore Nadia Luenig leads the team in playoff goals with six and has 15 goals and six assists this season.
class 3A
No. 1 Colorado Academy (16-0) vs. No. 4 Delta (17-1) at Jeffco NAAC Stadium Thursday at 5 p.m.
The Mustangs return to the title game for the first time since 2021 and are aiming for the program's sixth title since 2019. Serena Frenz had six goals and four assists in the playoffs and led the team with 26 goals and 12 goals on the year.
The Panthers are led by Jessica Black, the state's leading goal scorer. The junior had seven goals and three assists in the postseason and has 47 goals and 14 goals this spring.
No. 2 Jefferson Academy (16-2) will take on No. 3 Kent Denver (14-3-1) Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at Jeffco NAAC Stadium.
The defending champions will face the Mustangs, a Metro League foe they beat 1-0 during the regular season.
Senior Gianna Gagliano was a big part of winning the JA title a year ago, leading the Jags with 36 goals this spring and 92 for her career.
Sophomore Hadley Carrington leads Kent Denver with 14 goals.
class 2A
No. 1 Flatirons Academy (14-1-1) vs. No. 4 Crested Butte (14-2-1) Saturday at 12 p.m. at DPS All-City Stadium.
Both the top-ranked Bison and Titans made it through the first two rounds without much drama.
Flatirons Academy defeated No. 16 Grand Valley 8-1 and No. 8 Dawson 2-0. Crested Butte defeated No. 13 Rocky Mountain Lutheran and No. 5 Loveland Classic by a combined score of 13-0.
Junior Annabelle Lakers had four goals and two assists in the postseason for the Bison, while Molly Grace Miller had four goals and three assists for the Titans.
No. 6 Colorado Springs Christian School (12-3-2) vs. No. 7 Buena Vista (13-3), DPS All-City Stadium Saturday, 2:30 p.m.
The Lions are back in the title game and looking to repeat after defeating Fountain Valley to win the 2023 championship. They are led by junior Ella Baker, who scored 4 goals and 28 goals in the playoffs this spring.
Meanwhile, Buena Vista, which has never appeared in a title game based on its CHSAA record dating back to 1978, will be looking for another upset after defeating second-place Denver Christian 4-2 in the second round.
Sophomore Mae Blazer led the Demons with two goals and two assists in the playoffs, scoring 24 goals and 15 goals this spring.
