Weatherford – SWOSU Men's Basketball has announced the addition of nine student-athletes who will join the team in the 2024-25 academic year.
This is the first full-scale recruiting class under a second-year head coach. Brett Weiberg. There will be a total of nine future Bulldogs in this class. Six will join as freshmen, plus his three juco transfers will all be juniors. Five of the nine are from Oklahoma, including a signee from local Weatherford High School.
“I’m very happy with the 2024-25 signing class,” Weiberg said. “We had some specific needs like shooting, length and size, and we feel like we were able to resolve them with the young men we signed.”
SWOSU was picked 11th in the GAC's preseason poll last season and ultimately finished sixth in the league, qualifying for the postseason tournament in Wiberg's first season as coach.The Bulldogs lose four contributing seniors from last year's roster, including All-GAC first-team selections. ben smith.
“Our overall goal was to not only bring the best players possible to Weatherford and SWOSU, but to find the right people, and we feel like we accomplished that with this recruiting class. All of them are high-level teammates, students, they're winners and competitors, and they're a great fit with our returnees.”

“Clay is a tough combo guard who can play on and off the ball, can shoot the basketball and is really competitive. He is a state champion and Hall of Fame basketball coach, coach Scott Hines. Clay's mother, a high-level coach and SWOSU basketball alum, said he would be fun to coach because he is tough and has a will to win.
“Tucker is a big 3-point shooter. He's probably the best 3-point shooter in the 2024 Oklahoma State senior class. He's 6'4 and still growing. Tucker has a high basketball IQ and is under Coach Parker. At Perkins, Tucker led the high school team to its first state tournament appearance. ”
“We are very excited about Nate. He is a winner who has played in three state tournaments and two state championship games. He competes at a high level and made so many winning plays throughout his high school career. Coached by Derrick Bull, he will bring toughness and championships to the 2024 class.
