Since I started running years ago, I've worn multiple running shoes, but few have been better than the Asics Gel Kayano 30. Although not on my list of best running shoes, these are my personal favorite shoes. And what I'm currently training.
For a limited time, ASICS is selling the ASICS Gel Kayano 30 for just $119. That's $40 off, a huge discount on running shoes that are rarely discounted. Alternatively, it's available on Amazon for $119.
I've been using these shoes since last August and have found them to be great for casual runs on the treadmill, HIIT sessions, and long distance runs outdoors. As someone who overpronates, I think it's perfect for runners who prioritize stability and want a smooth, plush ride. If you like to “feel the ground” while running, these shoes probably aren't for you, as Asics' PureGEL technology is better at absorbing shock. The shoe's foam layer reduces shock to your feet, making you feel like you're running on clouds.
I also like that the shoes are very breathable. The shoes stayed dry even when I went on a 6-mile outdoor run in New York's humid summer. Also, I usually choose 2E width shoes, but I felt that the standard width of these ASICS shoes was perfect.
That said, I wouldn't recommend this shoe as an everyday gym shoe. Extra cushioning can be too distracting when performing squats and deadlifts. Otherwise, these are my current go-to shoes for consistent running. It was on sale so I ended up buying another pair.
