Arizona State names Ben Lolts head coach
Arizona was hired on Wednesday. Ben Lortz This is to fill a vacancy for head coach of the swimming and diving program.
Loorz arrived in Tucson after nearly a decade at UNLV. He led the Rebels to the men's WAC conference championship last year, the team's fourth consecutive conference championship, and set a conference tournament scoring record. Loorz led UNLV to five conference titles and five runner-up finishes in the WAC and Mountain West. He will oversee Arizona State's transition to the Big 12 Conference.

In Loorz's eight seasons, UNLV swimmers set 40 school records and won 90 conference titles (relay and individual). Loorz trained Tokyo Olympic athletes Zuzanna Giacavos, Vuk Selic and Kasia Wasik.

A California native, Lolts swam at American River College. He graduated from USC in 1999 and received his master's degree from Utah in 2008. He began coaching at Utah State as a graduate assistant from 2005 until 2007, helping the program win his two Mountain West titles. He joined UNLV as an assistant from 2007 until 2010, where he helped the team to three conference titles. His first head coaching experience was at Division II Cal State East Bay where he lasted six seasons.
Replaced by Mr. Lortz Auggie Bushwas released after the season.
