The U.S. Women's National Volleyball Team will take on a burnt orange hue for the opening game of the 2024 Volleyball Nations League, to be held in Rio de Janeiro from Wednesday through Sunday.
Four players with Texas ties will compete for the 14-man roster, including former Longhorns middle blocker Chiaka Ogbogu., middle blocker Brionne Butler, libero Zoe Fleck, and current Texas outside hitter Madisen, who helped the Longhorns win their second consecutive national title and won the Most Valuable Player Award at the NCAA Final Four in December. U.S. coach Karch Killary said he will use the early VNL games to help select the 12 players plus alternates for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

The American women are the reigning Olympic champions and are ranked second in the world. Since the VNL began in 2018, they have won three times (2018, 2019, 2021) and finished in 4th place overall in 2023.
The United States will play Thailand (No. 13 in the world), China (No. 6), Brazil (No. 3) and Dominican Republic (No. 8) in Brazil this week.
