Conference newcomers Oklahoma State and Texas come to Oxford.
Each new member of the prestigious Southeastern Conference will head to the SJB Pavilion to face the Rebels starting the 2024-25 school year. The Sooners were ranked No. 7 in the nation by the Associated Press last year, spending 11 weeks in the top 25. The Longhorns maintained their spot in the AP Top 25 through the first 10 weeks of the 2023-24 season and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament, where they were eliminated by No. 2 seed Tennessee.
Special teams, special plays, special players.
Each program in the SEC, one of the nation's best conferences, will compete against the best in college basketball in each of 18 contests. After tying the Big 12 with eight teams for the most teams in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, the SEC has sent a nation-record 16 teams to the postseason over the past two seasons. A total of 10 SEC programs ranked in the Associated Press Top 25 during the 2023-24 season, the most in college hoops.

The Rebels, like each program in the conference, will play three SEC teams twice during the 2024-25 season. In-state rival Mississippi State will travel to Oxford to host the Rebels in one of the most played college basketball rivalries in the nation. Ole Miss will also double-dip with LSU and the Auburn Tigers.

The first year under head coach Chris Beard saw an unprecedented level of support from the Ole Miss faithful. The 2023-24 total attendance of 142,757, more than 11,000 more than the previous record, was highlighted by two record-breaking crowds for Mississippi State (10,630) and Auburn (9,631). Both the Bulldogs and Tigers will return to SJB Pavilion next year.
Top elite talent
The SEC is home to some of the biggest names in college basketball coaching, giving Ole Miss the opportunity to compete against some of the sport's best leaders every season. Names like Rick Barnes, Bruce Pearl, and Nate Oats have been in the conference over the years, and he is one of many who have helped attract talent to the SEC. This season, Vanderbilt's Mark Byington (James Madison in 2023-24), Arkansas' John Calipari (Kentucky in 2023-24), Kentucky's Mark Pope (BYU in 2023) ) three new coaches will begin their first years at conference schools. -twenty four). Oklahoma's Porter Moser and Texas' Rodney Terry will return to their respective programs but will debut their first seasons in the SEC.
