San Antonio โ Tuesday, UTSA volleyball coach Carol Price Torok Officially announced the signing of Annika Sokol, who will join the Roadrunners after her freshman season at UCF.

After appearing in 18 games for a 17-12 UCF team, primarily as a defensive specialist, Sokol will head to the Alamo City for the 2024 season. He had 68 digs with the Knights, including a 17-dig performance on Oct. 26, 2024, against TCU.
Prior to his time in Orlando, Sokol was a standout at Heritage HS, earning all-conference first-team honors all four years. She was twice named team captain for the Eagles, won MVP twice and was named second team all-state in 2022. Sokol was named to Volleyball Magazine's High School Midseason ION List in 2022, and she received the school's 2023 Outstanding Player of the Year Award toward induction into the Hall of Fame. A triple-double machine in her own right, Sokol totaled 765 kills, 537 digs, 520 assists, and 116 blocks throughout her prep career. She also lettered in track and field and was active in club activities with the Colorado Juniors.
Ms. Sokol also excelled in the classroom, posting a 4.0 GPA, earning two All-State Academic Awards and earning a spot in the National Honor Society.
She is the daughter of Jonathan and Christy Sokol and has a brother named Paul Sokol. Her mother competed for the college's Colorado State track and field program, and she qualified for the 400 meter hurdles at the 1996 Olympic Trials. At UTSA, she plans to study health sciences with the goal of working in the medical field.
