MOKANE, Mo. — Taber Gray, one of the top five scorers in South Callaway boys basketball history, a three-time all-conference/all-district honoree and four-year starter, announced Monday He has officially signed with Hannibal LaGrange Men's Basketball at South Callaway. high school.
Gray scored 1,302 career points, joining his two older brothers in the Bulldogs' 1,000-point club.
In his final season at South Callaway, Gray averaged 19.5 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.8 assists, 2.5 steals and 0.1 block per game. He shot 76 percent from the free throw line, 45.3 percent from the field and 31.5 percent from 3-point range.
Although Gray is passionate about basketball, he excelled in all three sports he played at South Callaway.
As the Bulldogs' quarterback, Gray looked like a point guard on the gridiron, breaking school records for rushing touchdowns in a season (28) and a game (six) last fall.
Gray's speed didn't just translate to soccer, he placed fourth in the 4×100 meter relay in 44.53 seconds at the Class 2 Section 2 Championships in South Callaway on Saturday, earning him a berth in the state track and field meet. obtained.
