While filming in Mallorca over the weekend, Tom Cruise looked happy as he took off his usual tight t-shirt and went for a swim in the sea.
The 61-year-old Hollywood actor put on “dad-style” socks and trainers before slipping into navy swim trunks for a swim in the ocean, showing off his shirtless physique.
The Mission: Impossible star, who is known for performing his own stunts and maintaining a great figure, spent the day at Formentor Beach in Pollensa, showing off his muscular body.
Strolling along the pier, Tom opted for a stylish display, teaming his trunks with a simple gray T-shirt and a chic sun hat.
Instead of sandals, he completed the outfit with sporty trainers and black ankle socks.
Possibly in preparation for the director's next film, Tom sailed the waters of Mallorca on a tall ship with director Alejandro González Iñárritu.
Back in February, it was revealed that Tom was in talks with Warner Bros. to make a film with the Mexican director, who also directed Birdman and The Revenant.
According to Deadline, Tom was one of the “first” actors to discuss his first English-language film in nine years with director Alejandro, 60.
Tom was recently spotted filming the next installment of the Mission: Impossible series in London and seemed to be enjoying his vacation.
The Hollywood actor has caused chaos across London in recent weeks with various cancellations for his upcoming action movie.
Earlier this month, the team created a Trafalgar Square tube station that doesn't exist in real life, and also built its own tube station for the scene.
The star was never afraid to undergo extreme physical training throughout her career, sometimes training for years for her stunts.
Last July, Tom's pulse increased after riding his bike. In his latest film, Mission: Impossible, he falls off a cliff and falls from the sky.
The star trained for years, including 500 skydives and 13,000 motocross jumps, for the scene, which has been dubbed the most dangerous and biggest stunt in movie history.
To prepare for the scene, Tom had to make sure he had enough training in both biking and BASE jumping.
A motocross track was built, where star athletes jumped on an 80-foot platform, making a whopping 13,000 jumps during training.
He said of the experience:
“You train and drill every little aspect over and over and over again.”
When asked at a press conference at last year's Cannes Film Festival why he still does his own stunts, he said, “Why don't you ask Gene Kelly why he does all his own dancing?'' ' he objected.
However, Tom has to go to the gym for hours to perform his stunts.
There's no secret to his ultra-healthy lifestyle, as he lists an extensive list of physical activities he does to stay in shape.
He told Men's Health magazine: “Sea kayaking, caving…fencing, treadmilling, weight training…rock climbing, hiking…jogging…so many different activities.”
Expert PT Nick Lower previously told British GQ that Tom: We have the best team in the world who stay up to date with the latest fitness science and technology.
He explained: “I know he uses this very expensive, high-end machine, which instead of a regular chest press machine, for example, works on an eccentric load and pushes your back. ”
“So instead of doing 10 sets, you can do five sets and get the same amount of work done.
“Whatever he does, he does well. When you meet him in person, he looks 10 years younger.”
In addition to exercising, Tom is also committed to a regular eating plan. The star reportedly opts for 15 small snacks instead of three main meals a day.
In 2020, it was revealed that David Beckham ate just 1,200 calories a day as part of his diet plan.
Tom is a fan of grilled food and tries to avoid carbohydrates as much as possible.
Back in 2015, Tom's co-star Simon Pegg revealed a little about Tom's healthy eating habits to E!: “Tom's a strict disciplinarian, which is great.”
The comedian added that Tom provided the services of a chef on the set of the fifth installment, explaining that it was “not like boring rabbit food or protein shakes.” It was like a great stew and these adorable little dates stuffed with peanut butter and sprinkled with coconut as a snack, and these little truffle balls were amazing. ”
And debunking rumors that the movie star put his cast members on strict diets, Simon said: “He was like, 'Look, if you want to do what I'm doing, you should do it too.' It was,” he said. It was all him. It was given to us by Him.
“And we really liked the idea. But sometimes, at the end of the day, we just couldn't resist and ended up eating the chocolate on the bed pillow.”
Tom is busy filming the next Mission: Impossible movie, likely to be called Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part 2 and scheduled for release on May 23, 2025.
Dead Reckoning Part 1, starring Tom alongside Hayley Atwell, Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby and Simon Pegg, was released in July last year.
The film received two Oscar nominations for sound effects and visual effects. However, despite grossing $565.8 million worldwide, the film failed to achieve the profits needed to break even on its $291 million budget.
MI:8 was scheduled to be released this summer, but production has already been delayed due to the Hollywood writers' strike.
Production on the eighth film was initially halted for the cast to promote Part 1, but then strikes began causing further delays.
Last month, Tom blocked off a road in central Westminster to film a short distance from Downing Street.
The dramatic scene foreshadowed trouble for Tom's character, Impossible Task Force (IMF) agent Ethan Hunt, who was seen kneeling in the road in surrender.
As filming began at sunrise, production trucks lined the streets of central London to avoid major disruption in the usually bustling political capital.
In March, he filmed an exhilarating chase scene outside the National Diet Building, showing off his action-star style.
The actor showed off his impressive stamina and speed by sprinting across Westminster Bridge.
Parliament Square was barricaded off, with the Palace of Westminster and Big Ben serving as the backdrop for dramatic scenes in the upcoming film.
Meanwhile, Tom didn't let the closure of the M25 disrupt filming in March and had cast and crew arrive by helicopter to continue filming.
The planned closure near Surrey will see a five-mile stretch of the motorway closed in both directions, with bridges demolished and new gantries installed in a £317m refurbishment project.
And although motorists were warned not to travel at all, Tom used a helipad in Battersea, south-west London, to transport the cast and crew of Mission: Impossible 8 to the Longcross studio in Surrey. It is reported that he flew up to
The Mission: Impossible film series began in 1996 and is based on the 1966 television series of the same name.
